Dora & Anni sind unsere Nachbarinnen. Wir freuen uns mit Ihnen, dass sie heute, 28.01.2020 zu einer grossen Reise aufbrechen. Und das ist die geplante Route von Dora & Anni in New Zealand. Bilder füge ich hier mit Ort und Datum ein, sobald ich sie bekomme.
Update: üblicherweise bekomme ich die Bilde so um 0200-0400h in der Nacht. Man verzeihe mir, falls ich allenfalls datummässig etwas durcheinander komme…
Dora & Anni are our neighbours. We are pleased with them that they are setting off on a great journey today, 28.01.2020. And this is the planned route of Dora & Anni in New Zealand. I will add pictures here with place and date as soon as I get them.
Update: usually I get the picture around 0200-0400h at night. Sorry for an date-confusion…
FR 28 FEB – first month / Datapoint

Heute hatten wir volles Programm. Im Dschungel zu den Wasserfällen, die «Cathedral Cave» sehr beeindruckend, langen Strandspaziergang am Pinguinstrand und um sieben Uhr nach Hause gekommen. Grüsse von DorAnn!
Today we had a full agenda. In the jungle to the waterfalls, the «Cathedral Cave» very impressive, long beach walk on the penguin beach and home at seven o’clock. Greetings from DorAnn!
THU 27 FEB – very south
Waren in einem Altautomuseum heute Morgen. Sensationell! Und danach unter anderem am sűdlichsten Punkt der Sűdinsel.😁😁 ich kann es nicht mehr beschreiben. Mein Vokabulär ist ausgeschöpft.
Went to an old car museum this morning. Sensational! And later among other things at the southest point of the southern isle. 😁😁 I can’t describe it any more. My vocabulary is exhausted!
Danach, wie es sich gehört, gut Essen. Während hier die Gestelle im Coop infolge Coronavirus-Vorsorge im Bereich Pasta, Reis und Ravioli-Büchsen leergefegt sind, schickt mir Dora zum Frühstück bereits ein doch sehr anmächeliges Foto.
Afterwards, as it should be, good food. While here the racks in the Coop are empty in the area of pasta, rice and ravioli tins due to coronavirus, Dora already sends me a very attractive photo for breakfast.
Nach meiner Beschwerde folgt noch die Desserkarte, samt Wahl…. ich packe meine Koffer und fliege nach! Adios Svizzera!
After my complaint the dessert card follows, including the choice… I pack my bags and fly after! Good-bye Switzerland
WED 26 FEB – Invercargill
Unglaublich, gut 4 Wochen sind Dora und Anni jetzt bereits unterwegs. Die Bilderflut, die da nächtlich auf meinem Telefon eintrudelt ist überwältigend. Hier Schnee-regnets heute – ich weiss, weshalb die beiden noch etwas länger bleiben…
Incredible, it is almost 4 weeks since Dora and Anni left Switzerland and are on their way. The flood of pictures, which arrives nightly on my phone is overwhelming. Here snow-rain today – I know why the two stay a little longer…

TUE 25 FEB – Cruise
Gerade gepackt for the Cruise ca 25 km von hier. Freuen uns. Es ist alles irre schön u wenn es nicht so ist dann wechseln wir halt das Hotel. Liebe Grüsse an alle
Just packed for the cruise about 25 km from here. We are very happy. Everything is very nice and if it is not, so we change; the hotel for example. Love to all!

SUN 23 FEB – Mirror Lakes
Etwas Neuschnee….
Some fresh snow….
…und einen superschönen Tag in Richtung Milford Sound (seit 3 Wochen unpassierbar, seit der Katastrophe vor 3 Wochen) zu einem Mirror Lake gefahren. Wunderschön. Haben auch noch kurzerhand die Hotelseite gewechselt!
…and a super nice day drivin towards Milford Sound (impassable since 3 weeks, since the disaster 3 weeks ago) to a Mirror Lake. Beautiful. We also changed the side of the hotel without further ado!

THU 20 FEB Oakridge resort, Wanaka
Die ausgewechselte Loge hat es in sich… Tresor chic, wie Dora schreibt. Am Mittwoch um 2030h hat Judi noch eine neue Bleibe gefunden. Luxus pur! Williams Hotel in Wanaka!
The new place to stay (Williams Hotel, Wanaka) is a tough one… Vault chic, as Dora writes. On Wednesday at 2030h Judi found a new place to stay. Pure luxury!

WED 19 FEB Wanaka
Kurzerhand sind wir von der Farm weggezogen – sie https://youtu.be/F5ujl7TwhhUwar zu weit weg vom Pub! Wir sind nun in Wanaka. Grüsse aus den Schlemmerferien!

Zum anfangen ein Blick aus dem Fenster – Kühe im Nebel statt Mt. Cook!
To start with a look out the window – cows in the fog instead of Mt Cook!
Und dann, ein paar Stunden später, viel grün aus dem Busch. Wanderung um den See zum Fox Glacier Aussichtspunkt. Wunderschöne Farne & herzliche Grüsse kurz vorm Pub – das die News von Dora, Anni und Judi!
And then, some hours later, much green from the bush. Hike around the lake to the Fox Glacier viewpoint. Beautiful ferns & greetings just outside the pub – that’s the news from Dora, Anni and Judi!
Ein verdientes Nachtessen und gut sieht es aus. Mmmmh!

Grad angekommen beim Fox Glacier… und subito zum nächsten Pub! Wenn das nur gut kommt, mit dem «Purple Death»-Wein!

Auch kulinarisch scheint es den beiden gut zu gehen! Fischsuppe? Muscheln? Wir wünschen «en Guete»!
It looks even on the «culinary side» as if things doing well! Fish soup? Mussels? We wish «en Guete»!
Sa 15 FEB
Es scheint, als ob Dora und Anni grad in einer sehr schönen Unterkunft logieren. Falls es ihnen gar einmal langweilig werden würde, hat es sogar einen Billardtisch!
It seems as if Dora and Anni are staying in a very nice accommodation. In case they would get bored, there is even a pool table!
Aber auch sonst…. sehr schöne Unterkunft. Unglaublich schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sei es, berichtet Dora. Sie sind ganz allein im Haus, es sollten noch Schweizer kommen, aber da es stürmt, sind sie vorderhand mausbeinallein.
A very nice accommodation, indeed. Incredibly beautiful and tastefully furnished, reports Dora. They are all alone in the house, even they are expecting other Swiss people coming, but as it is very stormy, since now, nobody has arrived!
Küsten- und Wetterwechsel. Es gibt viele Schäden zu sehen – der Bergbach ist über die Ufer getreten.
We changed coast and weather. There is a lot of damage to be seen – the mountain stream has overflowed its banks.
FR 14 FEB Marine Reserve
Eingang zu unserer Unterkunft plus ein paar Bilder der Umgebung und noch ein paar Steine. Es ist wunderschön. Jetzt werden wir Judis’s Geburtstag feiern – wir werden vom Landlord hingefahren. Es geht uns prächtig! Sonnige Grüsse an alle, die jetzt dann bald aufstehen müssen. Dora, Anni und Judi!

Der Weg scheint sich gelohnt zu haben… / it was worth the trip!
Unser wunderschönes Holzhaus mit Pudel und Siamkater, welches wir jetzt bewohnen. Der Lammbraten im Pub ist outstanding!
Our beautiful wooden house with poodle and Siamese cat, which we now inhabit. The roast lamb in the pub is outstanding!

TUE 11 FEB
Langweilig ist es uns nie… Um 2000h gehen wir erledigt ins Bett und schlafen traumlos! Jetzt sind wir bereits unterwegs nach Kaiteriteri für eine Tagesschiffstour samt Besuch des Vogelschutzgebietes.
We are never bored… At 2000h we go to bed exhausted and sleep dreamless! Now we are already on our way to Kaiteriteri for a day boat tour including a visit to the bird sanctuary.
MO 10 FEB Picton
Inzwischen waren wir drei Tage in Picton und reisen nun weiter nach Moteuka / Papua. Es ist alles superschön inklusive Unterkünfte. Jetzt zusammen packen und in Picton frühstücken.
In the meantime we spent three days in Picton and are now travelling on to Moteuka / Papua. It is all super nice including accommodation. Now pack up and have breakfast in Picton.
Es ist grauenhaft – jede Bucht ist noch schöner, als die vorangehende!
It is horrible – each bay is even more beautiful than the one before!

SA 08 FEB Vogelschutzgebiet / Bird Sanctuary
Mit dem Schiff geht es weiter zu einem Vogelreservat. Von den Vögeln gibt es keine Bilder…
On it goes by ship to a bird sanctuary. There are no pictures of the birds…
…wohl aber vom Irish Pub danach. Sie trinken Bier und warten aufs Essen.

Es hat sich gelohnt – wir haben eine ganze Orcafamilie gesehen, was sehr selten sein soll!
It was worth it – we saw a whole orca family, which is said to be very rare!

TUE 04 FEB Waiau
Wir kommen grad vom Mittagessen in einem nahen Pub. Nun gehen wir in den Hot Pool ins Wasser uns aufweichen. Endlich etwas Regen. Es ist grauenhaft diese Dürre zu sehen.
We just came from lunch in a nearby pub. Now we go into the hot pool to soak up the water. Finally some rain. It is horrible to see this drought.
Nicht weit weg von uns hat es grosse Erdrutsche gegeben und die Touristen mussten evakuiert werden. Es geht uns gut! Herzliche Grüsse JuDorAnn

Its absolutely overwhelming! Had a safe voyage though very shaky due to strong winds. The chauffeur was at the airport on time, we too. Since we went swimming and had a nice breakfast. From our room on the 22nd floor we have a wonderful view incl. Marina Sands.. shall now go playing tourists. Sleep well. We enjoy the day. DorAnn

Sehr nervös, ganz zappelig und voller Vorfreude sind sie heute abgereist. Noch einen letzten Schweizer Kaffee in der Bye-bye Bar… wir warten gespannt auf erste Fotos von Singapore!
